The Day America Cried Statue

“The Day America Cried” by David Matizza, currently sits in the exact location where the plane hit the Pentagon; another piece was given to President George W. Bush in 2002 where it sits in the White House. This magnificent eagle also resides in the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library as well as on the Bridge of the USS Texas Submarine.

The artist’s inspiration for this statue began the day of 9/11 after David watched in shock what was happening to our country, he began to sculpt. The banner around the bottom has six stars; one for each of the towers, one for the civilians that died, one for the brave firefighters that lost their lives. The tears represent what we lost as a nation, our innocence and our sense of security. The feathers are drooping on one side, but on the opposite the feathers are back, alert and ready to do business. This is #83 of a Limited edition of 100. Once #100 is sold, the mold is broken and there will never be another piece created.

Minimum Bid is $15,000. All proceeds will go to the PTSD Foundation of America to support our local troops.
